Ultra Electronics, ProLogic is seeking a highly motivated Senior Systems Engineer for a position in Shreveport, LA that will work with minimal supervision/guidance.
Qualified candidates will have a strong software engineering and development background with excellent customer communication skills. Previous experience with Department of Defense (DoD) and GIS enterprise applications in net-centric environment is helpful. This position requires extensive travel to customer facilities.
RELOCATION ASSISTANCE IS AVAILABLE FOR THIS POSITION.
Generally, incumbents possess a degree plus 6-10 years of applicable experience.
Requires a minimum of a BA/BS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or an applicable engineering or technical subject, plus a minimum of five years of software development experience
Five or more years directly related to the engineering support to DoD systems specifically for software deliveries to government customers
Two or more years directly related to tactical data link technologies and relevant airborne platforms
Strong customer communication skills
REQUIRES US CITIZENSHIP
Requires eligibility to satisfy requirements for a Secret security clearance - candidate must be able to pass a National Agency Check (NAC).
Desired Experience:
Experience with DoD and Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) enterprise applications in Net-Centric environment
Experience in the installation, verification and validation of software deliveries to external sites
2+ years experience with .NET related technologies
General knowledge of US Air Force weapon systems and airborne platforms
General understanding of tactical data link data structures and standards
General knowledge of Ground Moving Target Indicator (GMTI) data, its use and its underlying structure
Ability to productively support end user customers at on-site locations and build effective and positive relationships
Ability to troubleshoot software anomalies and collect sufficient information to document observations into a trouble reporting system
General knowledge of other disciplines and how they relate to software engineering, including systems, hardware, integration/test, configuration management, and quality engineering
Experience using MS-Office suite of tools (e.g. Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint).
