Our Southwest Houston, TX client is seeking a long term contract to possible hire Payroll Specialist.

Summary Compiles payroll data to maintain payroll records by performing the following duties.

- Performs tasks to maintain employee payroll records, compute wage, overtime and other payments, calculate deductions, process special payments.

- Receives time input in various formats (automated timekeeping systems, self service) and loads into system.

- Runs payroll jobs necessary to produce accurate and timely pay.

- Processes manual pays, stop payments, voided checks as needed.  

- Balances and reconciles inputs and outputs; researches and resolves out of balance situations. 

- Processes complex calculations, payments deductions, taxable benefits, bonus pays.

- Adjusts employee records for errors or other adjustments.

- Generally follows established procedures. 

- Miscellaneous assistance in department as needed.

Requirements

- 3 – 5 years of experience processing payroll for a large company (8000 or more employees)

- Oracle experience is a plus but not required.
