Sr Programmer

POSITION SUMMARY:

·         Analyzes requirements for multiple projects and determining the best solution within the specified parameters. 

·         Uses the current RTI application environment to design, modify and maintain coding structures.

·         Keeps informed of all system code modifications as well as business rule changes and communicates clearly and effectively these changes to the team and supervisors. 

·         Provides progress reports and feedback on departmental issues. Often interfaces with users to gather requirements as well as to problem solve systemic issues. 

·         Conducts purposeful meetings and participates effectively. 

·         Provides job related mentoring to less experienced programmers on structured coding practices as well as the understanding of the RTI business and how it relates to the systems. 

·         Monitors data integrity and the reliability of the applications. 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED: (list required and preferred separately)

·         Bachelor's degree in a technical field required.

·         Minimum of 5 years work experience with any of the following:  Visual Basic, DHTML/HTML, JavaScript, .NET, or SQL Server

·         Minimum of 5 years working experience as a programmer using structured coding practices, consisting of 1 to 2 years in a technical lead role, required. 

·         Experience with the following is preferred:  MS NT server, Windows NT 4.0 and/or MS IIS server 4.0., SQL Reporting Services, XML, Third party software implementation, Crystal Reports

·         Must be able to work on multiple projects and to take initiative and work independently.  

·         Ability to identify/resolve issues using a balance of functional and technical expertise. 

·         Must show examples of being a team player, a self-starter, and be action-oriented and results-driven.
