LOCATION: Raiford, FL – Easy commute from Jacksonville, Gainesville or Lake City

 

JOB SUMMARY: Dental lab production department is looking for production supervisor that is an experienced (preferably certified) dental lab technician to supervise, teach and coordinate Dental Lab activities of production workers. Will provide supervision to and work with workers in production operations and ensure skill development for apprenticeship program relating to production process. Strive to ensure top quality products, on-time deliveries and superior customer service.

Requirements

EXPERIENCE, REQUIREMENTS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

-  Able to work flexible work schedule requiring 40-50+ hours/work week, possible weekends

-  Dental lab technician experience – 3-5 yrs required

-  Supervisory/Training experience – 2-3 yrs preferred

-  Education - minimum HS diploma or GED; Certified dental technicians preferred – passed national Board for Certification by the National Association of Dental laboratories

-  Must have verifiable work experience

-  Experience with art, ceramics, metal work and/or chemistry helpful

-  Professional verbal and written communication skills

-  Ability to relate effectively on multiple levels and with diverse groups

-  Able to communicate in technical terms with dentists and others within the industry and speak to large groups of people

-  Able to read and write in English

-  Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure; compute rates and percentages and interpret charts and graphs

-  Able to solve practical problems and deal with variables in situations where very little standardization exists

-  Vision abilities required are good close vision and normal color perception

-  Excellent manual dexterity and precision

-  Strong attention to detail a must

-  Basic computer skills (word processing)

-  Able to lift up to thirty (30) pounds

-  Knowledge in accounting and shipping/receiving practices helpful

-  Multi-tasking, organized and able to handle stressful situations

-  Teaches and provides on the job training to workers (apprenticeship program) within the Dental Lab

-  Performs any or all activities of the workers supervised

-  Carries out quality control inspections

-  Supervises arrival and status of all lab cases

-  Issues and inventories equipment and supplies to workers

-  Construct and repair dentures, bridges, crowns, and other artificial tooth replacement devices (prosthetics)

-  Interpret written instructions from dentists and work from plastic or wax impressions/molds of the patient's mouth

-  Use various tools and equipment including hand tools for carving and shaping, electric drills, presses, lathes, and high-heat furnaces for completing each dental piece

 

Note: while performing the duties of this job employees work around monomers, Nickel Beryllium, moving machinery, caustic chemicals and open flames, moderate noise and dust levels.

 

Direct permanent hire, full-time position.

$35 - 40,000/yr - Negotiable depending on experience plus strong benefits package.
