Description

Boutique law firm located in Overland Park, KS is looking for an accounting professional to fill the role of Office Manager/Accountant. The Office Manager/Accountant position entails diverse responsibilities including overseeing all day-to-day general office management, accounting functions, and human resources responsibilities. 

  • Prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, monthly and year-end  financial statements
  • Reconcile and analyze general ledger accounts
  • Responsible for bank reconciliations and cash management
  • Prepare and present cash flow analysis, budgets and projections
  • Prepare, edit and submit monthly client invoices; process checks as received; maintain A/R list and assist attorneys in collecting payments
  • Receive, process and pay vendor bills
  • Prepare, review and approve expense reports from Partners and employees
  • Maintain fixed assets
  • Monitor and evaluate all office operating procedures and processes
  • Manage vendor relations including sourcing new vendors, maintaining current contracts
  • Act as a liaison with building management regarding any issues and/or concerns 
  • Ensure confidentiality is maintained when handling all client information and employee documentation
  • Enroll employees in benefits and manage all updates and changes
  • Ensure a successful and informative on-boarding process for all new employees as well as follow through with employees exiting the company
  • Assist with mailing, filing, copying and faxing on an as-needed basis
  • Assists the Partners and attorneys as needed
  • Other duties as required
Requirements

The ideal candidate for this position will have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration followed by 2 or more years of accounting and office management experience, including billing, accounts payable, financial statement preparation and human resources functions. Strong proficiency in Quick Books and MS Excel, Word and Outlook are required. Experience with TABS or other legal billing application is a plus.  Candidate must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as a high level of discretion.  Candidate must be detail-oriented, proactive and be able to support staff wherever and whenever needed. This position offers great long-term potential and a strong compensation and benefits package.  Compensation will be based on qualifications and experience, $50,000-$60,000/yr.
