Job Description

Sr. Process Control Engineer

FPC of Severna Park has an immediate need for a Senior Process Control Engineer for one of our key process manufacturing client.  The Process Control engineer must have experience in either the chemical, petrochemical or pulp and paper industry.  The Process Control Engineer will coordinate projects having an impact on the plant’s process control function with the project engineering, maintenance, engineering services, technical and operations department.

 

  • Responsible for the planning, implementation and optimization of the process control systems.
  • Evaluate existing process control systems for reliability.
  • Develops control strategies, configures software and documents both.
  • Selects equipment and material for new control systems and modifications. 
  • Selects and installs end element control equipment and sensors such as flow meters, consistency analyzers, pH sensors, control valves, switches, and solenoid valves.
  • Assists operating and maintenance personnel on hardware, software, analysis and optimization issues relative to Process Control.
  • Troubleshoots control end elements and sensors.
 
Job Requirements
  • BS degree in Electrical or Chemical Engineering.
  • Should have at least 8 years experience in DCS and PLC.
  • Installation and configuration of PLC and DCS required
  • PLC background with Allen Bradley, Siemens, Rockwell Automation
  • DCS systems Honeywell TDC 3000, Experion, Delta V, Moore Apacs, Fisher Provox are all desirable
  • Process Data Historian Experience – PI, CIM/21
  • Wonderware HMI skills
  • A detailed knowledge of process control applications and expertise in project management are essential.
  • The engineer must possess strong analytical, technical and communication skills.
