  • CLERK - Sells stamps, accept overnight express mail, weigh packages, register and certify insured mail.
  • CARRIER - Delivers and collects mail, sorts and arranges mail for delivery in the morning, with residential areas delivered once, and some commercial areas delivered twice each day. Collects on COD items and obtains receipts for registered, certified, and insured mail.
  • MACHINE DISTRIBUTION CLERK - Sorts and distributes mail by using a complicated computer coding system which automatically drops mail into its proper slot for its destination.
  • MAIL HANDLER - Loads, unloads, separates, and moves bulk mail by hand or forklift. Also cancels postal stamps and operates addressograph and mimeographs.
  • MAIL PROCESSOR - Operates mail processing equipment, bar code sorters and optical bar code readers, performs troubleshooting and maintenance on equipment, collates and bundles processed mail, transfers mail to other areas, and loads mail into bins and onto trucks.
  • MARK-UP CLERK - Operates an Electro - Mechanical machine to process mail that is classified as "undeliverable as addressed." Uses computer databases, including change of address, address-correction, and mailers’ databases to track and reroute mail to proper destination.
