Description
· Provides material control and production planning focused support to assigned Business Unit
· Handles materials management projects focused on direct material flow, indirect material flow, material traceability, master production planning and scheduling, inventory planning and valuation, inventory accuracy, purchasing, forecasting, cycle counting, capacity and resource analysis and utilization
· Takes primary responsibility for efficient and effective use of materials and capacity
· Supports and collaborates with Quality Engineering and Process Engineering associated projects and personnel
· Interfaces directly with Marketing and/or Distribution to forecast product supply and demand
· Provides cross-functional Project Management support to other areas of the business
· Assists in directing non-exempt Team Members
· Measures and reports on Business Unit results in Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety and Morale
· Constructively participates in a team based work environment
Requirements
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED: (list required and preferred separately)
· Associate Planner (Grade 14): Minimum of a Bachelors in industrial engineering, business, or a relevant discipline or 2 years of equivalent professional experience including working knowledge of Lean/Progressive Manufacturing and Quality disciplines.
· Planner (Grade 15): Minimum of a Bachelors in industrial engineering, business, or a relevant discipline or APICS CPIM certification, and 3 years of equivalent relevant professional experience including working knowledge of Lean/Progressive Manufacturing and Quality disciplines.
· Senior Planner (Grade 16): Minimum of a Bachelors in industrial engineering, business, or a relevant discipline, and APICS CPIM certification, and 5 years of relevant professional experience including working knowledge of Lean/Progressive Manufacturing and Quality disciplines.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: (list required and preferred separately)
· Applicable technical competence and creativity
· People leadership and project management skills
· Oral & written communications skills
· Provide appropriately professional company representation during internal/external audits, customer/supplier visits, and interviews
· Advanced skills in computer software including but not limited to: MS Office, database, Excel, and MS Project
· Willingness to process and handle tissue
