Job Description:
We are currently seeking a Nurse Manager to oversee a team of quality healthcare professionals. As a Nurse Manager, you will ensure the effective management of the financial, human and other resources for the provision of quality patient care for the Medical Respiratory ICU.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure daily functioning of the departments under your direction.
- Assisting with direct patient care.
- Make admission and continued assessments of patients’ needs reflective of unit standards.
- Formulate patient focus/outcome relevant to the actual and potential health problems of the patient.
- Establish and meet performance expectations for each of the long term objectives.
- Train and orient new staff members.
- Provide ongoing feedback to staff regarding their performance and annually complete an employee performance assessment for all staff which includes development of goals for the upcoming year and/or education strategies to meet performance needs identified.
- Establish and implement a departmental competency plan for staff and self.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of services as well as meets regulatory standards.
- Responsible for timely and accurate timekeeping.
- Administer and monitor budgets and make adjustments based on operational factors.
- Monitor productivity on a daily basis and make staffing adjustments based on fluctuation and/or quality and service indicators.
Job Requirements

Master's degree required with emphasis in Nursing Administration preferred

5 years of nursing experience to include 3 years of hospital clinical practice

Demonstrated leadership management capabilities in Nursing field

Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to multi-task, delegate and organize
