Electrical System Engineer

Job Responsibilities:
Act as Technical Point of Contact (TPOC) for significant Electrical system changes.
�Develop and process DDG 1000 and DDG 51 Class Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) in accordance with schedule constraints (1 position for each initially)
�Assure all ECP related documentation is functionally correct and meets system requirements in accordance with contract specifications
�Interface with the Navy, Navy Contractors, Class Design, BIW and NGSS Change Management, and Functional Engineering in resolving technical issues and developing appropriate correspondence
�Provide support to Planning for development of accurate implementation plans
�Provide support to Estimating for development of accurate cost estimates
�Provide technical support to Manufacturing for the resolution of issues
�Provide technical leadership for all assigned systems and related tasks
�Develop and Deliver presentations to management and/or Navy personnel
�Develop ROM estimates for emergent HM&E Electrical Engineering work
�Participate in and/or lead Integrated Product Teams (IPTs)
�Participate in and/or lead off-site meetings and other events occasionally
�Head up special projects as assigned
Job Requirements: Required Education:
BS in Engineering required. Equivalent combination of Education and experience considered.
Required Work Experience:
3+ years experience in marine engineering required
US Navy leadership role experience preferred.
Unique/Additional Requirements:
�Familiarity with ship construction specifications preferred
�Experience with Installation Control Drawings, Technical Data Packages
�Occasional business travel is required
�Must have the flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure of changing and often-conflicting priorities
�Ability to execute multiple simultaneous projects required
�Strong research skills and the ability to pay attention to detail is required
�Self motivation and a strong ability to contribute in a team environment required
�Must be competent in MS Office products and generally PC savvy
�Strong oral and written communication skills required
