Job Summary: The student Externship is the final step in completing an 8 month Allied Health program. The Externship provides a practical work experience for the student. The Externship Coordinator is responsible for the activities between students and extern sites (labs, physicians, hospitals etc.) for all allied health programs.
Responsibilities:
· Develops new Externship Sites.
· Charts student’s progress throughout Externship.
· Prepares reports, forms and receives and conveys information.
· Interfaces with students on a day to day basis.
Required skills and experience:
· A minimum of 3 years experience as a Nurse, Certified Medical Assistant, Certified Medical Insurance Coder or related health occupation
· Microsoft Office Components: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
· Persuasive communication skills, with an orientation toward results
· Continuous student-customer focus
