job description

A Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist provides supports to individuals with Mental Health and/or Substance Abuse challenges in an outpatient settings. A LCAS’s role includes Care Coordination, group sessions, case management, teaching Recovery Techniques,  teaching skill building.  The skill building interventions are strength-based and focus on promoting recovery, symptom reduction, increased coping skills, and achievement of the highest level of functioning in the community.  The position will administratively and clinically manage the Substance Abuse Outpatient Program for individuals with substance abuse challenges. RHA offers a comprehensive training program.

Education and Experience

 

 The The Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist is defined as an individual who is:

  • an individual who holds a license, provisional license, certificate, registration or permit issued by the governing board regulating a human service profession, except a registered nurse who is licensed to practice in the State of North Carolina by the North Carolina Board of Nursing who also has four years of full-time accumulated experience in MH/DD/SA with the population served; the Qualified Behavioral Health Professional (QP qualified) function may be completed by a Certified Clinical Addiction Specialist (CCAS) or Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS);
