 G4S Compliance & Investigations, the global leader in insurance investigations and outsource SIU services for the insurance industry, is actively pursuing candidates in your area for a PART-TIME SIU investigator position that involves comprehensive and professional investigations into suspicious and questionable claims submitted by individuals and/or groups.  Position may lead to full-time employment.

The individuals chosen must be well organized and self-motivated as this is a field level investigative position involving task and complex claims investigation, fraud identification and possible fraud prosecution packaging for submission to the DA and/or DOI.  The SIU investigator must have strong personal and commercial lines experience, and a detailed knowledge of the applicable state laws impacting insurance fraud related investigations.

 

Principal Responsibilities: Conduct in-person interviews, obtain appropriate releases, obtain recorded and written statements, obtain and safeguard evidence, verify documents and information, conduct reviews of court records and other public and private records as appropriate. Review and extract pertinent information from insurance carrier's files, examine and inspect vehicles, homes, and businesses – sometimes in conjunction with forensic experts. Provide a comprehensive, formal, and professional written report upon conclusion of the investigation, and when appropriate, make a proper recommendation for the disposition of the claim.



Job Requirements

Required Competencies:

Successful candidates for the SIU investigator position must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with computer skills and excellent organizational skills.  We are seeking individuals with highly developed investigative skills and 5+ years of direct experience as an SIU field investigator within the insurance industry or 5+ years of direct experience as an insurance fraud investigator for a state Department of Insurance or AG’s insurance fraud unit is REQUIRED. The candidate must have the ability to conduct interviews and effectively obtain information in a positive, efficient, and professional manner. You must be willing and capable to travel extensively in your local area and work independently. You must have a clear understanding of investigative techniques and the laws pertaining to insurance and mandated fraud reporting.

 

A good knowledge of insurance contracts and methodology, including rights, responsibilities, and conditions which breach a contract is required, as is knowledge of worker compensation investigative concepts and practices.  Understanding of civil and criminal legal principles, evidence admissibility in a civil or criminal proceeding, and property/casualty insurance operations is required.
