Job Description:
Responsibilities include evaluating Project needs and systems functionality, ensuring that the needs of individuals and projects are met; plan, develop, documented and implemented, obtaining competitive prices from suppliers, where appropriate to ensure cost effectiveness; schedule upgrades and security backups of hardware and software systems; ensure the smooth operation of all systems, including anti-virus software, print services, and e-mail provisions; maintain compliance with all software licensing laws; provide secure access to the network for remote users; secure data from internal and external attack; provide users with appropriate support and advice; manage crisis situations, which may involve complex technical hardware and software problems; mentor and train new support staff; attend technical conferences and seminars to keep abreast of new software and hardware product developments; perform research for appropriate hardware and software requirements; create reports/presentations to upper management on networking issues; advise management personnel on new technologies and systems requirements. Manage services, including recovery activities. Manage projects and activities providing structured planning and oversight. Effectively manage emergencies. Manage the infrastructure to achieve the highest possible availability of services. Execute the annual tactical plan. Provide support for IP Core network functions and network infrastructure and design. Develop and maintain IA posture for network. Schedule scans and address any IAVM vulnerably on all equipment and report results to the IAM. Test and evaluate Networking and Wireless communications and adhere to DIACAP standards. Document and maintain all network maps utilizing Visio and additional tools.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent, with at least 4 years experience in network administration with systems infrastructure experience. A thorough knowledge of networking topology to include CISCO VOIP, fiber optic ,CAT5e and Linux/Windows operating systems;, to include but not limited to hubs, repeaters, bridges, routers, gateways, antenna arrays. Vendor certification (CCNA or CCIE, MCSE or Linux+, Security+ or CISSP) required.Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance.
