 This position is responsible for verifying, maintaining and improving the quality of components used and produced by Starkey. This position will be utilizing new technologies and will involve some travel both international and domestic.

Job Requirements

Minimum education, certification and experience requirements
  •        Education: 4 years college degree in Engineering with a strong emphasis in Mechanical or ElectricalEngineering required
  •        Experience: 3 years experience in Quality Engineering required. 3 years mechanical and electrical component production experience desired. 3 years experience with reliability testing and failure analysis desired. 3 years DOE and SPC experience desired.  Knowledge
  • Knowledge of mechanical engineering required.
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering desirable.
  • Knowledge of metallurgy, plastics, and chemistry desirable.
  • Knowledge of Process validation, developing inspection plans and process control plans using sampling plans and statistical methods and basic measurement techniques desired.
  • Knowledge of medical device manufacturing desired.
  • Knowledge of new product development systems desired.
  • Knowledge of ISO 13485:2003/ISO 9000:2000
  • Knowledge of mechanical shock, vibration, and environmental testing required.
  • Knowledge of acoustic engineering desired.
  • Knowledge of DOE and SPC techniques desired.
  • Knowledge of new product development systems desired.
  • Knowledge of quality systems desired.  Skills & Abilities
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills required.
  • Excellent people skills required.
  • Sufficient judgment to make reasonable business decisions concerning quality issues with regard for both economic and quality aspects. 
  • Reliability Engineering certification desired.
