WHO WE ARE   


  • West Tennessee Family Solutions (WTFS) is a community based supported living agency utilizing the Teaching-Family Model (see our website at www.wtfs.org ). 

  • We are currently seeking Teaching Counselors to provide direct services for adults with developmental disabilities and psychiatric issues.

 

JOB DUTIES

 

 

  1. Working as a direct care provider in the home which includes, providing hands-on personal care for the individuals, administering medications, implementing all treatment plans, taking individuals on outings, etc.

  2. Ensuring that the home remains clean and safe at all times.

  3. Maintaining all appropriate documentation.

  4. Maintaining program compliance with the Tennessee Division of Intellectual Disabilities Services, court monitors and agency requirements

  5. Attending all pre-service and annual update training classes.
  6. This position begins at $8.00/hr with little or no prior experience and goes up based on years in the field and education. 
Requirements

 

  1. Candidates for this position must have at least a high school diploma. 

  2. Prior experience with developmental disabilities preferred.

  3. Ability to pass all national background checks.

  4. Strong verbal and written communication skills

  5. Ability to handle all aspects of personal care.

  6. Ability to pass all required training components.

  7. Ability to lift and assist individuals with transfers.

  8. Operation of a motor vehicle is required.
