The department is dedicated to virtual validation of vehicle / vehicle systems performance through high performance computing. It has three subgroups namely Engine CFD, Vehicle CFD and HVAC CFD. Each group has a set DVP items wherein the each items are virtually correlated with the actual tests. During a vehicle development program each and every DVP item needs to be achieved before testing a prototype for the said performance. It has a direct impact on the total project lead time, cost and quality of a product.
-Development of calculation and analysis tools.
-Deploy the various CFD tools to accelerate the CFD performance of the vehicle
-Work with design team to simulate the desired CFD related behaviors
-Use CFD preprocessors to clean up the model and prepare it for CFD analysis
-Interact with system teams to generate the data which needs to be used as boundary conditions in CFD solutions
-Run the CFD analysis and optimize the performance through desired changes in the components and systems
-Continuously update the modeling practices for enhanced correlation between CFD analytical results and physical behavior of the vehicle for related CFD performance
-Develop new CFD practices (tools, techniques, procedures and guidelines) as part of continuous capability development process.
-Specialization in thermodynamics
-Expert in building CFD Meshed model , CFD software tools and techniques
-Hands on experience on CFD tools such as Fluent, StarCD, Radtherm, T Grid, Ansa, Hypermesh, AMESIM etc.
-Experience of delivery on
-Vehicle aerodynamics (Cd development)
-Vehicle underbody thermal management
-Vehicle Cooling ? front end cooling
-Climatic control development
-Wheel water splashing development
-Intake and exhaust system CFD development
-Knowledge of vehicle CFD development process in OEM
-Experience of handling full vehicle programs for CFD optimizations
-Ability to Lead and Mentor a team of engineers

- Conduct simulation and perform synthesis required to successfully demonstrate the thermal performance of components and their interactions within the vehicle system using math-based methods
-This technical area is defined by the energy transactions between, and incident on, components and/or an assembly of components necessary to meet vehicle level thermal requirements
-Process management will include the synthesis process and the related technical subtasks
-Mentoring and teaching customers in such a way as to convey the essence of recommended design changes is an integral part of this function
-Create, identify, and broker new solution methodologies to reduce time, improve quality, reduce total cost, and/or make possible new solutions for advanced vehicle systems while ensuring global delivery of the same
-Provide analytical/technical support to the Vehicle Design and Development activities by performing heat transfer, thermal, thermodynamic, and computational fluid dynamic (CFD) simulation and synthesis.
-Derive and recommend design solutions to improve product performance.
-Maintain effective communications with customers as necessary to convey information derived through analytical activities.
-Represent the OEM?s technical needs while participating in technical development forums as required.
