Job Summary: 



The Speech/Language Pathologist provides evaluation and therapeutic management for patients with speech, language and/or cognitive disorders.



Essential Duties: 


  • Evaluate patients’ abilities and limitations.
  • Establish treatment goals based on the evaluation, reason for the referral and team interaction.
  • Administer therapy according to the established plan, utilizing appropriate procedures, equipment and techniques within the scope of practice of a speech pathologist. 
  • Educate the patient and the caregiver about the goals of the program, methods of accomplishing goals, how to perform the home program and injury prevention.
  • Recommend adaptive equipment, complete the equipment justification form(s) and arrange for the delivery of the equipment.
  • Re-evaluate patients, assess their progress and make recommendations regarding discharge as necessary.
 RequirementsEducation:


  • Master's degree in Speech/Language Pathology and completion of CFY year.

Experience:


  • Three years experience preferred.
  • Experience with personal computers is required.

License/Certification:


  • ASHA certificate of clinical competence in Speech/Language Pathology required.
  • BLS (Level C) preferred or must be obtained within one month of employment.
