ettain group has an immediate opportunity for a contract Network Engineer at one of our rapidly growing telecom clients in the Raleigh/Durham, NC area.
The Professional Services Engineer will work with the sales staff, other delivery personnel, partners, and sub-contractors to successfully scope and deliver customer solutions. Key activities performed by the Professional Services Engineer will include:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Contribute to the Technical solution analysis, architecture, and design activities
• Initial system implementation, network integration, system provisioning
• Test Plan creation, execution and other services as specified by the support contract and statement of work (SOW)
• Execution of Migration and Database Conversion activities
• Execution of Solution Performance/Optimization activities
• Execution of Integration/Interoperability Testing
• Service delivery activities include on-site and remote implementation of new systems, technical discussions, and explanations of proposed solutions with customers
• Work with customers to ensure technical compatibility with third party products required for 'turnkey' Solution implementations
• Create and execute detailed Methods of Procedures (MOPs)
Minimum QUALIFICATIONS
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and presentations skills
• Knowledge & Experience of subscriber database technologies: HLR, HSS, SPR, ENUM, AAA, SDS, MySQL, Oracle, LDAP, DB query/scripting
• Knowledge & experience with hardware platforms and Operating Systems: Linux/Unix administrative tools, HP Rack-mount & Blade Server platforms, and open system platforms
• Knowledge & experience of data communications concepts of network architecture, TCP/IP Protocol suite, Routing, SNMP, and NTP
• Knowledge & experience with the following LAN technologies: Ethernet (10/100/1000/10G), VLANs, Spanning-Tree, and switching knowledge
• Knowledge & Experience with SCTP, IPv4, IPv6 as erll as 3G&4G Technologies for LTE / EPC / IMS Architectures. Knowledge of Diameter and 3GPP / 3GPP2 Diameter Interface specifications
• Preferred knowledge & experience with network management, OSS systems, Cellular & Cable technologies (PCMM, DOCSIS), IP Telephony signaling
• Ability to effectively deal with multiple activities and proven problem solving skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 70%, for domestic and international travel
Education and Training
• BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
• 3+ years experience in implementation of large scale service provider network infrastructures
• Minimum of 2 years experience in the telecommunications industry with specialization in IMS/LTE/EPC/3GPP architectures and standards
• CCNA, CCNP or equivalent IP networking certification preferred
