Job Description:
Electrical Testing of automotive Infotainment Systems including Radios, Navigation, Connectivity of Consumer Devices, Amplifiers, Displays, and Faceplates. Both, manual and automated test techniques to be used. Vehicle level reception and performance testing.
Shifts:Multiple Shifts 24/7 operation
-Responsible for reviewing component hardware and software design requirements requirements, execution and evaluation of designs, analysis, development, testing and control of major engineering projects where creativity and initiative are involved as well as a high level of independent judgment.
-Develops & executes Electrical Component and Subsystem/System Test Programs at bench and vehicle level.
-Develops & executed Body and Passive Safety development and validation tests
-Act as expert on Body and Safety testing issues at testing sites and be knowledgeable about testing done at OEM Worldwide and non-OEM facilities.
-Conducts detailed verification of functional behavior on Safety, Lighting, Entry Controls, Theft, Power Closures, and Occupant Position systems
-Procures project equipment, software, and material
-Writes test procedures
-Prepares and Manages project plans
-Analyzes and documents data and status from tests
-Generates technical solutions for current, new and major programs
-Performs complex design analysis
-Develops engineering designs (including subsystems)
-Implements engineering changes
-Specifies and balances system requirements
-Plans and implements test and/or development programs
-Communicates, coordinates, and consults with engineering departments and customers
-Stays abreast of new technology and competitive products
-Travels as required
Qualifications:
-High level of oral and written communication skills
-Understanding of engineering theory and principles of operation of mechanical/electrical mechanisms
-Demonstrated technical and professional skills in job-related area required
-Exhibits appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals
-Specific knowledge of engineering discipline (e.g. mechanics, physics, metallurgy, manufacturing methods, electronics, software, control systems) within job-related area
-Strong level analytical ability where problems are unusual and complex
-Strong level of interpersonal skills to work independently and effectively with others
-Knowledge of engineering software and systems as it pertains to job-related area
-Two or more years experience in job-related area.
-Candidate should have the following engineering degrees: BSE, BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer engineering. MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering is preferred.
-Must have a valid Driver's License
Preferred qualifications
-Knowledge of laboratory practices, instrumentation, and vehicle electrical systems.
-Diagnostic troubleshooting experience of electrical system.
-Good working knowledge of software and embedded controller design principles and validation processes.
-Strong project management skills with initiative and ability to establish achievement plans and then execute plans on time
-Proven skills in analysis and problem solving; able to recommend solutions and provide technical guidance
-GMLAN, CAN (Serial Data) communication experience.
-Prior validation and reliability experience.
-Previous experience in automotive electrical testing-Perfered
