Oracle DBA/MSSQL


DBA Responsibilities

  • Installation, configuration and upgrading of Oracle/MSSQL server software and related products
  • Evaluate Oracle/MSSQL features and related products
  • Establish and maintain backup and recovery policies and procedures
  • Implement and maintain database security
  • Perform database tuning and performance monitoring
  • Perform application/SQL tuning and performance monitoring
  • Work as part of a team and provide 7x24 support when required
  • Perform general technical trouble shooting and give consultation to development teams
  • Patch Management

 Requirements

DBA Skills Required

  • Good understanding of the Oracle 10g/11g databases, MSSQL 2005/2008/2012 databases, related utilities and tools
  • A good understanding of the underlying Linux/Windows operating system
  • A good knowledge of the physical database design
  • Ability to perform Oracle on Linux/MSSQL on Windows; performance tuning and monitoring
  • Knowledge of Oracle/MSSQL backup and recovery
  • A good knowledge of Oracle/MSSQL security management
  • Experience in code migration, database change management and data management through the various stages of the development life cycle
  • A sound knowledge of both database and system performance tuning
  • Good communication skills
  • Oracle 10g/11g RAC
  • Unix shell scripting
  • 3-5 years production support

  • Oracle GoldenGate Replication
  • Microsoft Reporting Services 2008 & 2012
  • Microsoft Integration Services  2008 & 2012
