The Systems Administrator I position provides IT core systems administration for a broad range of complex services, and includes deployment, support and maintenance. This role has a mix of tactical and strategic responsibilities. The position is a critical part of a team that delivers enterprise IT core services and solutions, with a focus on support, change management, project management, incident management, and navigating the daily systems administration duties. This position reports to the IT Senior Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Timely response to support requests via the customer support portal, and management of customer/client relations.
- Documentation of support requests, resolution and root cause.
- Serve as escalation point for Service Desk support team.
- Server (Windows & Linux), systems and infrastructure support.
- System deployment and project implementation support, maintenance and upgrades, adhering to change management documentation and implementation procedures.
- Inventory and documentation of technical environment and supported IT assets.
Qualities:
- 2+ years of the following experience:
- x86 based server HW support (RAID, SCSI, production deployment & maintenance)
- Windows Server 2008 Active Directory systems administration (GPO's, Exchange 2010, SQL 2008+, IIS)
- Occasional Windows desktop OS & application support, escalation and troubleshooting (Windows 7, Office, Visio, Anti-Virus, etc.)
- Core services administration (DNS, DHCP, SMTP)
- Linux support and systems administration
- Fundamental understanding of Network and Information Security concepts behind systems communications
- Experience with various technologies such as backup systems, Citrix, VMWare, Apache, MySQL, PHP, HTML, BASH
- Preferred experience with VMWare, enterprise SAN/NAS, Asterisk based systems
- Excellent verbal/written comprehension and positive communication skills
- Solid technical troubleshooting and documentation skills, creativity and a positive can-do attitude
- Preferred: One relevant current Certification: MCSA, ITIL Foundation, VCP, RHCSA, etc.
