Unit Description
We are a fast-paced, 36-bed medical PCU that works with high-turnover adult and geriatric patients. A team philosophy drives everything we do, and we are fortunate to have access to pain, wound and diabetes resource nurses. Our nurse to patient ratio is 1:3 on days and 1:4 on nights.
Position Description
The Assistant Clinical Nurse Manager is a registered professional nurse with direct shift responsibility for the quality and continuity of patient care for specific age groups identified by the standards of care. The Assistant Clinical Nurse Manager provides leadership in the delivery of care and nursing practice within the clinical unit. The Assistant Clinical Nurse Manager participates in unit employee selection through interviewing and the hiring process. Directs and evaluates personnel according to hospital, nursing and unit philosophy and objectives. The Assistant Clinical Nurse Manager is a role model and resource person guiding staff in the development of skills and capabilities. The Assistant Clinical Nurse Manager develops unit activities that support the elements of extending excellence. Adheres to the Florida Hospital Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
