About This Position
Reporting to the Executive Director of the Foundation, the Director of Major Gifts is responsible for identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of prospective major donors. Manages a personal portfolio of individuals and foundations. Works with hospital administration, physician and donor communities to fundraise, facilitate appropriate projects and meet their respective expectations.
Requirements:
Minimum seven years experience in soliciting and securing six and seven figure gifts. Strong time management skills, balance competing priorities, complex situations, and deadlines. Effective project management experience.
Effectively balances growth and cost. Tracks performance metrics to ensure superior results. Deliver key messages in a concise manner.
Ability to analyze issues affecting the organization, and creating and applying successful solutions. Balance ability to work independently and have accountability to colleagues.
Positive attitude and drive to meet and exceed objectives while motivating and inspiring others. Creates a climate of open communication and participation.

Skills in consensus building, negotiation, and mediation – negotiate win-win outcomes and make effective trade-offs. Ability to be flexible and positive in a stressful and changing environment. Pleasant, approachable, and has a sense of humor. Respect for confidentiality.
Thorough understanding and application of HIPAA regulations. Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, and impeccable grammar. Excellent Raisers Edge and wealth screening skills. Bachelor’s degree. CFRE preferred.
Preferred Experience:
Leadership role in feasibility studies and/or capital campaigns.
Working knowledge of strategic planning, business plans, and organizational development.
Proven team player in adverse environment or organizational turn-around.
