Your tasks
To serve as experienced subject matter expert supporting the manufacturing and distribution operation, market segments, and the external customers. The focus of the Manufacturing Process Specialist is assessing/correcting process problems, driving process improvement and guiding mid-to-long range planning through application of their individual subject expertise and collaborating with internal and external resources.

Our requirements
� Develops and implements lean and continuous improvement initiatives relative to the areas of safety, quality, waste, and productivity throughout Manufacturing & Distribution (M & D).

� Monitors performance results against key performance indicator goals relevant to M & D; develops and executes initiatives to correct variances and leverage best practices.

� Collaborates with the M & D Operations group to execute manufacturing priorities in keeping with attaining customer quality, schedule, and distribution requirements.

� Works with other Manufacturing Process Specialists to develop and implement manufacturing processes which result in the most efficient M & D operation while simultaneously meeting customer requirements.

� Provides support and backup to Manufacturing Supervisors.

� Troubleshoots Pressroom specific production problems in manufacturing and distribution related to areas of expertise.

� Develops and maintains standard operating procedures for the M & D group, concentrating on the Press SOPs with the goal of maximizing standardization across M & D areas and manufacturing sites.

� Serves as the Press consultant to Market Segments, Sales, Business Services, Engineering/IT, HR, New Business Development, suppliers, and/or customers with respect to the pressroom and any other areas of expertise.

� Evaluates and recommends equipment, machinery and/or technology solutions to be utilized within pressroom in conjunction with Maintenance and Engineering/IT resources.

� Assesses employee development and training needs within the pressroom and other areas of M & D; develops and implements initiatives to remedy deficiencies and leverage strengths.

� Researches, tests, and evaluates new materials/processes in the pressroom and other areas of M & D, pursuing the implementation of those which result in furthering Manufacturing & Distribution�s quality, cost, and efficiency of performance.

� Works effectively with individuals at remote sites and/or virtual teams.

� Maintains a flexible work schedule to support the 24/7 nature of the operation. Responds to trouble calls remotely and on-site as needed.

� Conducts customer and vendor site visits as required.

� Participates in decisions related to the selection, promotion, transfer, pay and discipline of assigned personnel.

� Provides effective supervision, training, and guidance for assigned personnel.

� Orients employees to Company policies and procedures, clearly communicating work duties and responsibilities so individuals may proceed with certainty in the performance of their jobs.

� Personally conducts or oversees training for employees to ensure established procedures are clearly understood and followed. Continually monitors results being achieved in assigned areas.

� Monitors and documents the work performance of assigned personnel on a
continual basis, conducts effective coaching and/or reviews of performance, and takes corrective action whenever necessary.

� Follows all established policies and procedures in completing job responsibilities and accountabilities.

� Administers Company policies and procedures in a fair and equitable manner, accurately documenting all incidents and corrective actions taken.

� Creates a working climate in which assigned personnel are motivated to develop their skills and abilities and demonstrates by personal example the desired standards of conduct and work performance.

� Develops and maintains good working relationships which contribute to a productive climate within the department and throughout the company.

QUALIFICATIONS/JOB SPECIFICATIONS

The position qualifications and job specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or ability required to successfully perform the essential and additional duties and responsibilities of this position.

�High school level or equivalent; (Preferred) Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university; and/or a minimum of five years field related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

�Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

�Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

�Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to analyze and evaluate an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

�Computer skills including the ability to effectively use word processing, spreadsheets, email, internet browsers skills and data analysis tools.

�Strong working knowledge of offset lithographic processes, binding and distribution.

�Strong organizational abilities; ability to multitask, attention to detail and resourcefulness.

�Must be available during all hours in order to support the 24/7 nature of the operation. Respond to trouble calls remotely and on-site.

�Must be able to effectively lead and participate in meetings, presentations, and customer tours.

�Strong communication abilities.

�Must be able to communicate effectively with the full breadth of BPC stakeholders, including customers, sales, production employees, and other internal functional areas.
