Environmental Project Manager - permitting, assessment, and documentation experience needed

Atkins’ San Antonio Ecology Group is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a successful and expanding team of environmental professionals in the San Antonio, Texas office. The role of the Project Manager will be to


contribute to project oversight and technical expertise in the general field of natural resources, NEPA documentation and USACE permitting, site assessments, and related services in the central and south Texas regions for municipal and oil&gas clients. Business development skills are preferred.


Typical job duties and responsibilities will include:


•Manage project assignments of varying complexity and size;


•Provide technical services and oversight as required by the project;


Interact with clients, regulatory agencies and sub-consultants to achieve project objectives;


•Coordinate and participate in contract negotiations with clients and subcontractors;


•Draft professional service agreements;


•Mentor technical staff to assist in training and development; and


•Identify new business opportunities for the firm.

Job Requirements

We are seeking a candidate with the following experience and qualifications:


Bachelor's degree or more in Biology, Rangeland Management, Natural Resources Management, Ecology, Fisheries and Wildlife or a similar field. Management coursework or MBA would be considered a plus.


Seven (7) to twelve (12) years experience in the environmental project field, with significant experience in managing projects from beginning to end.


Good analytical skills and attention to detail, technical writing, organizational skills, computer and communication skills.


The ideal candidate would have expertise in the direction of consulting, management and quality control of multiple project efforts which may include coordination with clients, sub-consultants and regulatory agencies.


Specifically, we are looking for a candidate with experience in some or all of the following:


• Section 404 and multi-agency permitting;


•NEPA assessments and reporting;


•Threatened and endangered species compliance;


•Oil and Gas and/or municipality work experience; and


• Marketing and business development
