Network Engineer

The ideal candidate will be a key part of Connolly's IT Network and Support team that is responsible for the network infrastructure (including core networking, servers, storage, users, etc.).

• 4 datacenters including a brand new build out of a tier-2 datacenter
• International WAN
• Over 2.4 Petabytes of online storage
• Various types of connectivity: MPLS, IPSec VPNs, Private point-to-point, dark fiber DC to DC connectivity
• Cisco Nexus, 6500 series and Force10 Terascale E series core switching infrastructure
• Various model Cisco switches and routers deployed throughout infrastructure
• F5 remote access and load-balancing appliances
• International VoIP (Cisco & MS Lync)
• 10Gbit Ethernet to the host
• Latest MS Technologies (SharePoint 2013, Server 2012, SQL 2012)

The primary focus of a Network Engineer is to evaluate and develop new voice and data network solutions, drive technology project delivery efforts, provide advanced technical support for all Datacenter and site LAN/WAN/voice components, and provide technical mentoring to other team members.  Network Engineers develop and implement new solutions, improve existing solutions, and provide a path of escalation for complex or high risk IT requests.
Essential Functions:
• Manage the overall Network Services Team support response and communications for all outages
• Available as needed for escalation of support incidents
• Available for after hours on-call support
• Organize and participate in after-hours maintenance
• Keep IT management apprised of critical issues
• Provide feedback and recommendations regarding service delivery improvements
• Assist team in the delivery of projects
• Organize, drive, and track assigned IT projects
• Complete tasks in a timely and quality fashion
• Develop and champion implementation, quality control, and change control standards
• Provide client or vendor facing support/representation/escalation

Knowledge, skills and abilities:
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience working as a Network Engineer
• Cisco Nexus hands-on experience highly desired!
• Subject matter expertise in areas of networking including routing, switching, firewalling, VoIP solutions, and information security
• Ability to manage situations of catastrophic failure or of a high risk and critical nature
• Demonstrable ability to collaborate with team members and IT management
• Excellent logical troubleshooting ability
• Excellent customer service skills
• Excellent organization and documentation skills
