Test Automation Specialist

The IT Test Tool Specialist:

• Supports end users of selected test tools and management requirements for test tool information reporting.
• Will assist with and make recommendations for the design of HP Quality Center project and folder structures and naming conventions.
• Will provide guidance and thought leadership with respect to test tool selection, configuration, and use.
• Will interface with project resources to support end user set up, inquiries of tool usage, training, and reporting.

Specific Duties:

• Perform end user training on the use of Test Tools such as HPQC, QTP, Loadrunner, and SAP TAO
• Develop an audit process to ensure adherence to Dart software quality assurance processes involving the use of test tools
• Maintain and publish guidelines supporting the use of test tools and ensure adherence to those guidelines through an audit process
• Manage test tools end user support requests for user set up, requirements, test script development, test execution, and reporting
• Design the framework for Test Automation
• Perform test scripting for automated test cases
• Develop and maintain test metrics tracking and reporting using test tool data and MS Excel
• Work closely with testing resources to help remove obstacles enabling adherence to the project schedule for test planning, test preparation, test execution and reporting
• Maintain Test Tool technical expertise, keeping current with evolving changes and sharing that knowledge with colleagues and ISD Management
• Provide assistance for coordinating development and testing of HPQC changes

Requirements and Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Computer Science preferred
• At least 4 years of experience working with HPQC including 1 year experience with version 10.0, version 11.0 preferred
• At least 2 years of previous work experience in an HPQC Administrator role
• At least 2 years of experience with Quick Test Pro or other automated functional test tool
• Experience with Loadrunner and performance testing
• At least 2 years of previous work experience with ERP projects, preferably an SAP implementation
• Experience with developing test plans and test scripts, executing test cases for large and complex business processes 
• Experience with creating the framework required for efficient automated testing in support of Regression and Performance testing
• Strong knowledge of HPQC SQL Server database relationships
• Solid understanding of Microsoft Excel macros, pivot tables and charting features
• Experience with SharePoint
• Prefer experience with SAP testing processes including Test Accelerator and Optimization
• Strong communication skills, both written and spoken
• Customer service orientation
• Demonstrate the ability to organize, control, and direct work assignments for self and team members
• Additional work hours as occasionally required, including weekends
• Ability to operate a computer and to handle other computer components
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
