As a Front End Developer you will lead the design team and maintain the front end framework to be used on all web properties worldwide. The candidate must have experience creating frameworks from concept to completion with a strong emphasis on utilizing industry best practices. The position will be working with more junior front end developers, reporting to the Web Development Team Lead. Close coordination with the creative and back end development teams are a key to success. Job Duties •Ownership of the front end framework •Semantic HTML/CSS coding/updating for assigned projects •JavaScript/DOM scripting to build interactive but accessible interfaces •Interaction with UX/Design team and business users •Daily maintenance/updates to existing sites •Willing to relocate to Lexington area at your own expense Preferred Skill Set •Ability to create layouts using advanced and semantic HTML5 and CSS3, as well as previous HTML and CSS specs •Extensive knowledge of DOM scripting with native JavaScript and JS libraries such as jQuery, Mustache, Handlebars; LABjs and async loaders; Create.js, Raphael and canvas-focused frameworks •A strong understanding of JavaScript performance optimization techniques •Extensive use of APIs and a strong understanding of HTTP and REST architecture •A strong understanding of modern web practices to create an efficient user-experience •Strong web portfolio required** (showcasing the aforementioned skills) •Must be a team player and open to change •Fun and friendly attitude •Experience with managing multiple projects •Very organized and meticulous with documentation •Well written and spoken English •Familiarity with an agile development process Qualifications: •Bachelors Degree in Web Development, Computer Science or combined equivalent of education and/or experience is required •3+ years of front end framework experience •Experience working with Version Control; primarily Subversion a plus •Experience working with server-side scripting languages like JSP, PHP, Python or Ruby a plusCompensation: $30 - $40 per hour depending on history and experience5 PTO days and 6 paid holidaysThis position does not provide healthcare or retirement benefitsW-2 employee only.
