Hours: Job Details: Under general supervision and according to established pre-admission and concurrent review processes, protocols and screening criteria, utilizes professional judgement and experience in order to timely review, evaluate, collaborate and recommend appropriate levels of care for patients in the Emergency Department (ED), Ambulatory Surgery, and Observation beds to expedite and meet patient care needs while utilizing hospital resources in a cost effective manner. Promotes compliance to managed care utilization requirements for precertification, preferred specialists, facility and ancillary providers. Facilitates patient's discharge planning needs from the ED, Observation and Ambulatory Surgery. 1. Minimum Education: A level of knowledge acquired through successful completion of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Recent extensive ICU/ER progressively more responsible clinical experience may be considered in-lieu of the degreee requirement. 2. Minimum Work Experience: Three to five years of work experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting. Two to four years of work experience performing utilization management/case management. Discharge planning experience preferred. 3. Certification, Licensure, Registration: Current unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan.
