Java Developer - J2EE

Responsibilities: Kforce is looking to fill several Java Developer positions for one of its clients in San Antonio, Texas (TX). These are permanent opportunities with relocation assistance available.

Main Duties:

• Consistently apply learned processes, procedures, and work flows to include the software development life cycle and/or release processes


• Create system requirements; perform design and analysis; coding of medium to high complexity; unit testing of core system functionality; and correct defects during various phases of testing


• Independently install, customize, and integrate commercial software packages


• Facilitate root cause analysis of system issues


• You may serve as the subject matter expert (SME) on development techniques


• Create system documentation / play book and participate as a reviewer and contributor in requirements, design, and code reviews


• Receive more complex work packages from the manager / delegates


• Develop accurate estimates and create project and component work packages based on specifications


• Identify ideas to improve system performance and impact availability and resolves complex technical design issues


• You may serve as a mentor on procedural matters to junior team members

Minimum Requirements:

• A Bachelor's degree or 6 years of IT work experience


• 4+ years of practical core Java experience


• 4+ years J2EE experience


• 2+ years of web services development


• 4+ years of Object-Oriented programming

Preferred:

• 2+ years of client side development experience


• 2+ years of server side development experience


• 2+ years of C++ experience


• Understanding of SOA and vendor integration


• 2+ years of leading teams of developers implement large distributed projects


• WebSphere experience


• Hands-on experience on design and development of web applications using J2EE
