Direct Support Staff - All shifts!

Job Description

Candeo is a growing organization whose mission is to inspire our clients to achieve their personal goals. We assist people with disabilities to live independently in their own community.


We are hiring for Full-Time, Part-Time and Casual Community Living Instructors, Instructors of Brain Injury Services, and Mental Health Instructors who provide support, supervision and instruction to individuals with disabilities who live in the community within Polk County.



Community Living Instructors, Instructors of Brain Injury Services, and Mental Health Instructors:

  • Provide direct instruction to CANDEO clients
  • Supports our clients to achieve their personal goals and will function independently assuring that clients receive the highest quality services possible. Direction and guidance are available from the Service Coordinator as needed.


This is a GREAT job for students or people who need a second job. Shifts are typically afternoons, evenings and weekends, with a lot of flexibility depending on our client's needs.
 

Job Requirements

Requirements for Community Living and Instructors  of Brain Injury Services:

This position requires a high school diploma or GED, and some experience with people with intellectual disabilities is preferred and some positions prefer experience with Brain Injury, but not required.

Requirements for Mental Health Instructors:

This position requires an Associates Degree in Human Services or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience; some experience with people with mental health disabilities is preferred.



We have part time, full time and overnight positions available but nights and weekends may be required.

Applicants must be able to pass background checks including criminal history, sex offernder, dependent adult and child abuse checks, and motor vehicle driving record. Applicants must have a vehicle and auto insurance.

Applicants must be able to attend five full days of training (Monday through Friday 8:30 - 4:30pm) in order to work at Candeo.
