Job Description

Mortgage closer oppertunity with a small established and rapidly expanding company on the west side of Cincinnati.

The Loan Closer will be responsible to review all loan documents for accuracy and ensure the data is current. In order to prepare the documents the Closer will breakdown the information that needs to be supplied on the HUD, what fees need to be addressed, and who they go to. Once the loan is prepared for closing the Closer will review HUD and approve, wire funds, and ship the file to post closing. The Closer is also responsible for preparing and reviewing documents for all loan types including mortgages, credit cards, and loans collateralized by securities. Needs to be framiliar with Encompass software.

Job Requirements

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Document preparation for loans.
  • Update rate changes on various loan systems.
  • Create new loan checklists. Account maintenance on various systems.
  • Vehicle title tracking.
  • Maintain insurance tracking reports.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly billing.
  • Board new loans on various loan systems.
  • Interface with portfolio managers and custody agents.
  • Quality control of loan documentation.
  • Communicate with applicants, clients, staff and third parties (attorney, closing agents, vendors) to answer questions and resolve issues.
  • Create mortgage loan documentation on Laser Pro.
  • Prepare daily control agreement and watch list reports.
  • Prepare and monitor daily collateral analysis reports.
  • Daily loan transaction reconciliation.
  • Research GL outages.
  • Recovery payment tracking.
  • Process non-post items.


Requirements
Skills and Competencies:
  • Ability to read HUD and approve
  • Closing software knowledge
  • 2-5 years of experience in closing
  • Working knowledge of mortgage loan documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of lending compliance regulations (Reg. Z, RESPA, Truth in Lending, Reg. B, HMDA).
  • Knowledge of business desktop applications (i.e.: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access & Project, Windows, Visio, etc.).
  • Knowledge of compliance in a banking environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Accurate with numbers and attention to details.
  • Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations (or analysis). Ability to organize and prioritize workflow and to coordinate the work of others.
