We are actively seeking talented Technical Professionals with all levels of information technology and communications skills.  In addition we are looking for candidates with experience installing home theater systems and components.

The Nerd’s Herd is looking for a Computer System & Home Theater Installation Trainer in the Chicagoland area.


Computer System Professionals
Responsibilities include:


-Ability to provide customer assistance with routine inquiries and problems such as software, hardware, and network operations.

 

-Be able to diagnose problems through discussions with the end-users.


-Be able to fix problems through research, recognition and isolation of the problem.


-Install and configure PCs, and provide end-user training.

 
-Perform configuration work to include but not limited to: upgrades and hardware/software installations, plus database administration and troubleshooting.


-Support VPN service in order to offer remote working capabilities to the end user.

 
-Document all work and keep logs where applicable so that members of the team are aware of work that

has been completed and may impact them in the event of a system failure.

 
-Desktop support (local and remote)


Home Theater Professionals

Responsibilities include:


-Operation and installation of basic and advanced audio and video hardware systems.  This includes, but is not limited to, wiring, wall mounting, cabling, electrical and basic construction knowledge.

 

-Installations will range from basic audio/video connections to more complex, consisting of fishing wires through walls for advanced installations.

 

-Handle a wide variety of analog and digital equipment and their operation.

 

-Educate customers on the use and operation of audio and video equipment. 

 

-Keep complicated and technical terms simple to insure complete understanding for all customer levels.

 

-Provide quality customer service in a variety of service environments.

 

-Adhere to safe practices and procedures.

Job Requirements

Computer System Professionals
Qualifications and Experience:


-2 to 4 years of previous help desk support experience.


-Proven success with providing PC, MS Office, email, and network solutions from on-site and remote locations.

 

-Must have strong IP networking skills.


-Demonstrated skills with answering and documenting all activities.

 
-Demonstrated ability to make complicated and technical concepts clear to end-users of all levels.


-Ability to quickly develop comprehensive knowledge of technology systems.

 
-Ability to function with limited direction in a fast-paced environment.


-Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, telephone etiquette, strong verbal and written communication skills (technical and non-technical).


-Ability to maintain a high level of client trust and confidence in the understanding of and concern for customer needs.


-Highly organized/strong attention to detail.

-Demonstrated exceptional problem-solving skills.


-Ability to take technical direction, adhere to established standards and techniques and set tasks in the proper priority.


-Complete knowledge of all operating systems Windows and Mac.

Home Theater Professionals

Qualifications and Experience:


-
2 to 4 years experience in a Home Theater installation work environment.

 

-Experience with traveling to customer’s homes to perform delivery and basic installation of home theater, satellite, multi-room audio and video products.

 

-All installations must meet the highest quality standards set forth by the company, while assuring a professional and safe working environment.

 

-Must have strong customer service skills in order to act as a company representative in customer’s home.

 

Additional Qualifications:


-Must be able to pass a Criminal Background check.


-Have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.


-Be able to pass a drug screen.


-Able to lift and maneuver 75 pounds and up to 150 pounds in team situations.
