Job Description




JSG is seeking top candidates for this great long term opportunity in the greater Palmdale, CA area. Our client is in need of a Quality Engineer with experience in the aerospace industry. JSG is offering medical, dental, vision, and 401k benefits for the contract portion of this 6 month temp-to-hire opportunity.


Job Description


Develops quality standards through assessment and protocols for the quality management system and maintains charting performance targets as directed by the Quality Assurance Manager.

Interacts with production supervisors to determine and resolve quality-related problems.

Maintains and monitors statutory and regulatory systems as required.

The quality engineer must be familiar with AS9100, ISO9001 concepts, practices, and procedures.

Job Requirements



 ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Describe and apply principles and techniques for developing, building, and organizing teams, and leading quality initiatives.
  • Describe and apply cost of quality concepts, including quality cost categories, data collection, reporting, etc. Evaluate cost of quality and interpret results.
  • Perform failure analysis on return product resulting in corrective actions to preclude occurrence.
  • Assist production teams analyzing and problem solving across the company.
  • Define, apply, and analyze the results of customer relation measures such as quality ratings, customer returns, and complaints.
  • Define, select, and apply methodologies such as qualification, certification, evaluation, ratings, performance improvement, etc.
  • Identify and integrate the common elements such as design control, process control, quality costs, auditing, test procedures, etc.
  • Identify, define, and apply the elements of a documentation system such as configuration management, document control, etc.
  • Identify the content and applicability of ASQ and ISO quality standards.
  • Identify and apply the concepts and techniques of various types of quality audits such as product, process, system, registration, certification, management, compliance, 1st, 2nd, 3rd-party, etc.
  • Identify, define and classify quality characteristics, including seriousness classification of defects.
  • Identify sources of design input such as customer needs, regulatory requirements, etc. Identify and apply common elements of the contract review process.
  • Select, construct, apply, and interpret flowcharts, Pareto charts, and cause and effect diagrams.
  • Select, apply, and interpret, control charts, check sheets, scatter diagrams, and histograms.
  • Will be required to perform other job duties as requested, directed or assigned.


JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Interpret technical drawings including characteristics such as views, title blocks, dimensioning, tolerancing, GD&T symbols, etc. Interpret specification requirements in relation to product and process requirements.
  • Describe and classify the implementation steps of quality improvement models such as Kaizen, continuous improvement, etc.
  • Excellent organizational skills with focus on detail.
  • Excellent phone/communication skills.
  • Familiarity and use of a variety of Windows-based software programs (e.g., Microsoft Office products, Manufacturing Requirements Planning (MRP), etc.).
  • Support Lean/Continuous Improvement.

 

EDUCATION

High School diploma or equivalent required.

4-year engineering/technical degree and/or equivalent related work experience preferred.

5 years minimum as a top level inspector familiar with machining and raw materials

2-4 years experience in the field of hydraulic and pneumatic components for the aerospace industry.
