Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk

We are currently performing a search for a strong Accounts Payable Clerk for a Tampa based company which is a leader in its industry.  The position is a newly created/upgraded role due to expansion, has phenomenal visibility and growth potential, excellent work/life balance and offers outstanding benefits.

The Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for the following:

• Prepare and process daily cash and credit card deposits and fills out cash control sheet daily.
  Review and post receipts and payments to appropriate ledgers, spreadsheets, records, and databases.
• Audit invoices against purchase orders, researches discrepancies, and approve for payment.
  Investigate problems that vendors or purchasing agents have with obtaining payment for bills.
• Research and process charge backs, returns, refunds, freight charges, cost of lost or damaged goods, bad checks, and similar items.
• Maintain Accounts Payable records, ensuring that posting and allocations are updated appropriately.
• Reconcile supplier statements, taking corrective action where necessary to ensure that proper accounting codes are in place.
• Produce monthly reports, assist in month end closing.
• Answer accounts payable and receivable inquiries and follows up.
• Assist with related special projects, as required.

• 2+ years of experience in a full-cycle AP capacity is preferred
• Proficiency in MS Excel is required
• Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
