Come, shine with us!Astellas is announcing a Director, Contracts and Pricing opportunity at our Deerfield, IL location.Summary:The Director of Contracts and Pricing has full responsibility for the internal management of four general areas 1) commercial contracting; 2) local, state & federal government contracting; 3) Medicaid Drug Rebate Program; and 4) Trade agreements. Both commercial and government contracting responsibilities include the final execution as well as the administration of contracts. Compliance is a key element in all four major areas since compliance is of primary concern to the company and these four areas of responsibility, throughout the industry, continue to be under ever-increasing scrutiny by the Dept. of Health & Human Services, the Dept. of Veterans Affairs and the Food & Drug Administration as well as by the public at large.The Director acts as primary gatekeeper for Sales & Marketing commercial contracting initiatives, as well as commercial and federal pricing practices. The position chairs the Strategic Pricing Committee which meets periodically to consider pricing, contracting and policy related matters. On a routine basis the position oversees the screening and processing of requests for contracts and/or contract proposals including participation in the negotiation of all managed care, GPO, government, wholesaler, distributor and individual agreements. The position also:- reviews all Medicaid & VA FSS quarterly rebate and discount calculations and reporting - maintains a Contract Lifecycle Management System to capture & track all commercial product pricing - acts as primary contact to Legal with respect to contracting and pricing requests- maintains Contract Lifecycle Management systems to monitor and/or support: - contract negotiation process- rebate payment process for each type of contract- identification of Best Price (Medicaid)- identification of Most Favored Customer (FSS Contract) |

REQUIREMENTS:- Bachelors Degree with a Masters Degree preferred - 5 - 7 years commercial contracting & compliance experience and government sales experience (to include FSS contracting and the Medicaid Drug Rebate Program), involving direct contact with CMS and the Dept. of Veterans Affairs; full knowledge of associated regulations and guidelines, and the ability to provide interpretations of that information to others. Experience in government sales reporting (i.e., AMP, Best Price, Non-FAMP, etc.)to include full disclosure of commercial sales practices to the Dept. of Veterans Affairs.- 10+ years pharmaceutical industry experience related to pharmaceutical contracting and compliance.- Excellent leadership/supervisory skills, with 3 - 5 years of experience.- Ability to manage large projects and provide guidance/training to direct reports and others in the department as needed.- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with writing ability to meet legal requirements and standards.- Ability to communicate effectively and maintain effective working relationships. Must be able to positively influence department staff and other Astellas groups. |
