Job Description
Responsible for performing a wide variety of complex technical accounting and financial activities, to include providing advice to departments, reporting, identifying and interpreting inconsistencies and deviations, and recommending/implementing solutions to accounting, financial, and business issues through the application of, data management best practices, financial analysis techniques, and good business practices. Responsible for maintaining and applying a thorough knowledge of policies, procedures, and objectives of the overall Shared Services financial systems and resolving discrepancies discovered during the course of business engineering activities.
 
Maintains a high degree of competence in reporting methodology. Works directly with top Shared Services management on special projects under limited supervision. Within the guidelines of authorized Company policies, programs, procedures, budgets, laws, and good business ethics, coordinates and controls the activities, plans, and programs of the designated areas of responsibility.
 
1. Applies Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, sound financial analysis techniques, and good business practices to all business engineering projects.
2. Manages shared MS Access databases.
3. Prepares and assures the accurate and timely entry of data to the central computer databases of the Shared Services Organization.
4. Reviews and analyzes the daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and operational data specific to assigned projects.
5. Reconciles differences and inconsistencies in the financial and operational data reported in the various Company systems and by operating divisions.
6. Prepares and analyzes monthly financial reports and statements for upper management.
7. Researches, analyzes, and explains current and past activity, expected trends, and potential effect of change.
8. Prepares charts, tables, and other exhibits for use in reports.
9. Prepares reports, statements, working papers, schedules, exhibits, and summaries supporting business engineering projects.
10. Presents and supports findings and recommendations regarding special projects.
 
Job Requirements
BS/BA in Computer Science or Programming. 2+ years of MS Access database design and implementation required with a very strong knowledge of Visual Basic necessary. Desktop programming languages to include, but not limited to, VBA, SQL, Pivot Tables, Excel Macro, and a very high degree of competency with sharing MS Access Databases strongly preferred. Able to design, develop, and implement complex systems and reports. Able to perform complex analyses at the highest level using advanced financial analysis techniques, statistics and mathematics. Working knowledge of finance or accounting processes. Experience with vendor relationship management strongly preferred.
