Description Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital is a 120-bed hospital in Wheaton, Illinois, that is dedicated to the delivery of rehabilitative medicine. Founded in 1972 by the Wheaton Franciscan Sisters, the hospital is part of Marianjoy, Inc., a network of care that manages more than 400 beds within the greater Chicago area. Throughout the network, Marianjoy provides inpatient, comprehensive outpatient and subacute rehabilitation services. Marianjoy is a member of Wheaton Franciscan Services, Inc., located in Wheaton, Illinois. Sponsored by the Wheaton Franciscan Sisters, Wheaton Franciscan Services, Inc. owns and operates more than 100 health and shelter service organizations in Colorado, Illinois, Iowa and Wisconsin.

Marianjoy rehabiliation hospital in Wheaton, Illinois - located on a 60 acre campus rich with ancient oaks, native prairie growth and wildlife - has 120 private rooms and provides patients with compassionate care, consistent with its Mission, Vision and Values. The hospital is well equipped with the latest technology including CPOE (computerized physician order entry), Pyxis cartless system, BMV(bedside medication verification) and eMAR (electronic medication administration record). Pharmacy is staffed by experienced pharmacists and technicians providing pharmacokinetic support, anticoagulant and antibiotics monitoring and other clinical services to the patients.

The Pharmacy Director directs all activities in the Pharmacy Department and ensures that staff is competent, trained, and scheduled appropriately. You will provide pharmaceutical care to meet the needs of the hospital and its patients and staff.

Specific Responsibilities:
The Pharmacy Director assures that pharmacy and staff adhere to the standards of practice set forth by state and federal statutes, regulatory and accrediting agencies, and professional pharmacy organizations (e.g. American Society of Health System Pharmacists), as well the standards consistent with Marianjoy policies, mission, and core values.

You will interview and hire pharmacists and technicians for approved positions. It will be your responsibility to implement the competency review and performance feedback program, and follow-up actions, if necessary. You will coordinate department scheduling and payroll processing. You will review, develop, and coordinate a provision of safe and effective clinical and distributive pharmacy services which meet the changing needs of Marianjoy's patient population.

The Pharmacy Director coordinates development, maintenance, and implementation of drug formulary, pharmacy policies, and hospital policies and procedures pertaining to medications as well as continuous quality improvement activities for pharmacy and drug usage evaluation program for medical staff. You will coordinate the maintenance, updating, and utilization of pharmacy information systems, including Meditech and PYXIS. You will develop and implement the pharmacy budget process according to Marianjoy's strategic objectives.

You must promote effective, safe, and economic use of medications and coordinate pharmacy services with other hospital departments, particularly medical staff and nursing. The Pharmacy Director serves as the secretary of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, preparing meeting materials and minutes. You will also collaborate with the infection control physician to promote appropriate use of antibiotics.

Requirements Education:
A graduate degree from an accredited college of pharmacy is required. A current State of Illinois Pharmacist license is required.

Experience:
You must have at least three years of previous work experience with at least 1 year in a supervisory capacity. Hospital pharmacy experience preferred.

Knowledge:
You must have a basic proficiency with pharmacy, word processing and spreadsheet computer programs.
