Job Description

·         Support 24x7 database environments including systems availability, backup and recovery, performance, alerting and paging and security efficiency

·         Software installation, database creation, configurations, migrations and upgrades

·         Archival, backup/restore procedures

·         Plan, coordinate and implement security measures to safeguard information

·         Status reporting, inventory counts and time tracking

·         Capacity planning/space management

·         Test databases and perform modifications (patches) to remedy bugs

·         Specifies users and user access levels

·         Makes recommendations on improving database management



Job Requirements

·         5+ years Oracle DBA

·         Working knowledge of Unix Shell programming

·         Working knowledge of C/C++, Perl or Java programming

·         Must have RAC experience (10g), ASM, OCFS, DataGuard, RMAN and Grid Control

·         Knowledge of at least 2 of the following: Oracle (SE, EE), MySQL DBA, MSSqlServer, DB2 UDB

·         Understanding of how a database interacts with the operating system, server and storage

·         Basic database tuning skills

·         Understanding of servers, memory, I/O subsystems, tape backups, sizing / configuration knowledge and RAID and SANs

·         Familiar with Database Monitoring and Event Notification tools
