Job Description 


 

A multi-billion Fortune 500 company is seeking a Director of Tax – Planning & Strategy to oversee corporate tax planning and M&A transactions on an international level.  This individual will also serve as a point person for external auditors from Big 4 and the IRS to explain complex transactions and ensure proper documentation. 

 

Reporting to the VP of Tax the new Director of Tax will have a dotted line relationship to over 20 staff that can be utilized for planning, research and strategic tax projects.   If you are looking for a next step in your career out of Big 4 or a new challenge in industry please consider the following details.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for company’s global tax planning and transactional tax issues, including but not limited to, identification of tax savings strategies
  • Provide tax planning support on large scale restructurings and mergers, acquisitions and dispositions
  • Responsible for the management and control of the federal audit process, which includes communications with the IRS
  • Support both headquarters and worldwide offices on project initiatives including the participation in creating optimal tax structures in acquisitions
  • Maintain current tax advantaged financing structures
  • Monitor tax legislations and regulations and communicate relevant provisions to management and business units

Job Requirements 

 Requirements:

 

  • 10-15 years of experience with tax research and planning with an emphasis on transactional tax issues
  • Big 4 experience highly preferred
  • CPA or MST required
  • JD and International experience highly preferred
