OptionCare's services also include respiratory therapy and home medical equipment at some locations.
Job Duties Include:
A Pharmacy Technician I assists the pharmacist with providing safe and appropriate pharmacy services to Walgreens-Option Care patients in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Walgreens-Option Care, the state's professional standards, and other regulatory entities. The Pharmacy Technician I works under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist and assists with the preparation, packing and delivery of products and services to Walgreens-Option Care patients. Performs the following tasks in a correct and timely fashion under the supervision of a pharmacist. Assists the pharmacist with the preparation and dispensing of medications and supplies using appropriate techniques and following Walgreens-Option Care's policies and procedures. Manage time effectively to fulfill responsibilities. Maximize work efficiency through the use of computers and other technologies. Speak knowledgeably of the scope of services that are available through Walgreens-Option Care. Assists with product purchasing, inventory and equipment management. Maintain confidentiality of patient and proprietary information. Participates in the process for assessing, managing, and reporting medication-related incidents and equipment error and/or failures. Participate in on-call responsibilities of the pharmacy department if required.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Good communication skills, flexibility and ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Self-directed with excellent time management skills and able to work within a schedule.
- Current valid driver's license and proof of current automobile insurance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience working in an infusion or hospital pharmacy. Completion of 2-4 years of higher education with an emphasis in the sciences. Certification as a Pharmacy Technician.
