Description

Illinois Tool Works has recently been named one of America's most admired companies by a prominent business publication.  We are looking for a National Sales Manager at one of our divisions, DuoFast Construction.  The position will be based in Schaumburg, IL.  

The position is responsible for planning, administering, controlling and organizing the activities of the DuoFast sales force to meet or exceed profitable sales and earnings objectives.  The successful candidate will develop and implement regional strategic plans to support annual and long range plan objectives.  The National Sales Manager will be responsible for developing a highly proficient sales team by coaching direct reports.

Main responsibilities for the position include:
- Establishing and maintaining top level relations with the management of existing and potential customers, dealers and/or distributors.
- Measuring the effectiveness of all programs implemented for all channels including direct contractor, distributor/dealer programs, product introductions and the management of channel conflict.
- Leading ongoing market analysis by obtaining intelligence through multiple sources.
- Building an effective direct to contractor and on-site sales model.
- Leading the sales team by developing direct reports and acting collaboratively as a cross functional leader.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred
- 10 years of management experience
- 5 years of territory management responsibility
- 30% travel required
- Proven ability to influence customers.
- Ability to analyze sales data and determine appropriate actions to improve account position.
- Results driven with ability to manage multiple priorities with highly effective follow through skills.
- Strong communication skills; both written and verbal.  Ability to present information to small informal groups as well as to large groups.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to walk or stand for extended period of time while at a jobsite or trade show.
