Position Summary:

Qualified candidates for this Manager position in the Plante & Moran Healthcare practice will have a minimum of ten (10) years total experience with a background of accomplishment and growth in responsibilities. Ideally, the background of a well-qualified candidate will include experience on the healthcare provider side as well as experience with a healthcare consulting organization. 

Candidates background should specifically include experience in:

• Organizational-wide Strategic Planning, Feasibility Studies, Demand Analysis, Operational and Process Improvement, Financial Analysis and Modeling, Forecasting and Budgeting, and Organizational Assessment and Market Positioning
• Proven experience in performance of compiled or examined feasibility studies used for issuance of healthcare bonds, HUD-242, and other financing
• Additional breadth within past consultative experience that would benefit the candidate would include analysis and problem solving in the following disciplines:  Revenue and Profitability Improvement, Cost Reporting and Reimbursement, and Process Reengineering
• Any candidate should have a high degree of experience in marketing consulting services to current as well as new clients
• The person selected for this position should have a successful track record of writing articles for publication and in speaking at events relevant to healthcare
• Experience interacting successfully with senior level decision makers in the health care industry.

Other services to be coordinated by the Healthcare Finance Manager are:

• Due Diligence Services
• Participation in Hospital and Medical Group revenue cycle assessments and process improvement engagements
• Labor Productivity
• Joint Venture Modeling

Position Accountabilities:

• Engagement project management and overseeing client relationships
• Performing or supervising engagement activities as listed in the position summary section
• Business development activities including identification and closing on new engagements with existing and new clients as well as developing a strong referral network
• Staff development and team building

As a Plante & Moran Healthcare Finance Manager for the Healthcare Consulting Practice, qualified candidates must possess:

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

• Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Administration or Finance
• Graduate level education (e.g. MBA / MHA) or other certifications (CPA) are not required but would be beneficial
• HFMA Certified Healthcare Finance Professional
• Minimum 10 years of experience working in a hospital finance environment
• Strong Presentation Skills, Computer Skills, Selling Skills, and Written and Verbal Communication Skills
• Self confident and at ease in presenting to groups of 20 – 30 people, and in communicating to Senior Management of hospitals (CEO, COO, and CFO’s)
• He/She should also be highly motivated, a self-starter
• Creative problem solver, an entrepreneurial individual who will enjoy building the healthcare practice of the organization as a key part of the team
• Candidates, who have a successful track record of consulting in the healthcare field, focusing primarily on the business / finance side of an organization, should have numerous examples of successes that they have enjoyed because of these skills
• It is critical that a well-qualified candidate be the type of individual who is dedicated toward helping Plant & Moran build its healthcare practice by providing excellent service to its clients
• To be successful in the position, a person must enjoy a culture where supporting others and working with other professionals to accomplish goals, is crucial.
• The candidate should enjoy working with a variety of clients and projects, regardless of the client organizational size or sophistication
• Qualified candidates must have the appearance, demeanor, and interpersonal skills to effectively represent Plante & Moran with a myriad of different organization.

GEOGRAPHY, TRAVEL and HOURS

• Qualified candidates must be either residing in one of the following locations or be willing to relocate:  Chicago, IL, Eglin, IL, Columbus, OH, Southfield, MI or East Lansing, MI
• The position will be principally responsible for servicing healthcare consulting clients in the Illinois, Wisconsin, and Indiana markets
• Candidates should anticipate a minimum of 25% travel, primarily consisting of day travel
• This is an exempt position that may require some Saturday work hours and overtime during workweek
