PERSONALITY PROFILE
Strong team leader in sales and sales management. Must have supervision experience that is preferably industry based. Must have a passion for people and the club industry. Must have the ability to hire, train, motivate and supervise. Responsible for tracking and accounting for monthly sales goals. Possess the ability to make sales outcalls and help plan advertising/marketing strategies. Assist in the maintenance of corporate account activity, creating new corporate accounts and assisting with outreach.
The individual will be a Selling Sales manager who will have a monthly individual as well as team sales goal.
GENERAL SUMMARY
Responsible to train and supervise the membership associates while achieving individual and team membership quotas. Contribution to marketing strategies and implementation of marketing programs. Manage the sales department with membership sales, integration of new members and retention.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide ongoing supervision, motivation and skills development with the sales staff to ensure that the monthly budgeted sales goals and revenues are achieved.
- Ensure communication and training as necessary on any marketing strategies and implementations of marketing programs.
- Attend all ongoing sales meetings, sales training sessions and conducts weekly staff meetings.
- Contribute to ongoing sales training of membership representatives. Ensures efficient and timely processing of membership paperwork through the business office.
- Responsible for scheduling and coverage of sales department.
- Turning in sales, revenues and tracking reports on defined dates. Communicates results of sales to entire staff in Department Head meetings. Achieves daily, weekly and monthly individual sales goals.
- Support and facilitate the monthly sales promotion and marketing plan. Maintains and improves sales knowledge and club knowledge. Demonstrates understanding of product knowledge including general exercise knowledge and equipment/programming availability.
- Promote and sell athletic club memberships to corporations and individuals. Develops corporate proposals and presentations. Plan, organizes and develops a monthly calendar of receptions for existing and new corporate accounts while ensuring corporate members are kept current on programs and promotions.
- Conduct guest tours and provides membership information to prospective members.
- Achieve a minimum number of contacts daily and sets a minimum number of daily appointments.
- Develop and maintains the following systems: member base, prospect lead generation system for corporate and individual members by telemarketing, outside cold calling, club guest passes, walk-ins, member referrals and prospect lead follow-up.
- Utilize Five Seasons Sales Training techniques
- Assist with activities/programs not directly related to new membership sales.
- Support, communicate and model the Five Seasons mission, values, and policies.
- Lead, train, motivate, develop, and manage direct reports to be productive, team-oriented and to support the company vision.
- Ensure performance management of staff by providing department orientation, managing and documenting performance evaluation standards, and providing career development feedback on a timely basis.
- Manages staff to ensure compliance with human resources policies and procedures including recruiting, hiring, compensation, payroll, training, performance management, safety, and termination.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Sales or other business related field from four-year college or university; and at least two years related experience in club membership sales with proven track record in club membership sales-hitting monthly budgets over the past year; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public in English.Math Ability: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamental s of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, and rations, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Technical Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of sales fundamentals and computer software such as Microsoft Excel, Word and database software.
