Job Description 

Interstate Brands Corp., one of the largest wholesale bread and cake distributors in the United States has an immediate need for an experienced Class A CDL Transport Driver. The transport driver is responsible for delivering product from the plant to various locations (e.g. sister plants, depots, retail stores, customer sites); moving racks or dollies of finished products and material handling equipment; loading and unloading trailers; daily inspection of equipment in com pliance with DOT regulations; maintaining driver log; and completing driver trip reports.

Job Requirements 

1. HS diploma or GED
2. Class A commercial drivers license
3. Knowledge of and ability to operate a heavy truck with a minimum of two (2) years prior truck driving experience.
4. Solid understanding of DOT regulations, laws and procedures relative to safe and legal operation of vehicles used for cargo transport.
5. Clean driving record

·  Have a valid driver's license and CLEAN driving record

·  Be able to operate a manual transmission vehicle



·  Understand how to maintain and enhance customer relationships

·  Understand the concept of selling and have functional sales skills

·  Have good oral communication – follow verbal and written instructions



·  Ability to drive in congested traffic

·  Physically able to tolerate the demands of physical labor, making time stops and vigorous work pace.

Must be able to multi-task and work in fast paced environment and work with minimal supervision.

-Self starters and those with excellent people skills strongly preferred.

 

Selected candidates will be required to pass a road test, drug test, physical and an extensive background check.
