Administrative Assistant


GENERAL SUMMARY

To provide general administrative reception support.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES OF ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT: 

  • Answer telephone, take messages and/or transfer calls to appropriate individual or department
  • Greet customers and visitors, answer questions and direct them to the appropriate individual or department
  •  Assist various departments with administrative needs
  • Coordinate travel for employees
  • Assist in receiving and distributing the mail as needed
  • Create and maintain process documentation for all front desk responsibilities
  • Provide back-up support to mailroom/facilities

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS OF ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT: 

 

Education


  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)  

 

Experience


  • Experience in a property/casualty insurance environment preferred
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment Skills
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions provided in written or oral form
  • Strong typing skills
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Good oral communication skills required
  • Ability to resolve problems involving standardized situations Physical
  •  Occasional bending, reaching, and light physical effort (under 10 pounds) required
