The Opportunity.
Alliant Credit Union, the largest Credit Union in Illinois, is seeking a results-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee and manage the operational accounting/reconciliation area of Accounting and Financial Reporting department. Work involves managing and coordinating the workflow of the reconciliation team, working with other internal departments on reconciliation efforts and process improvements, automating processes, improving efficiency, as well as establishing and maintaining policies and procedures to ensure controls are in place and enforceable.
Duties of the Accounting Manager include:

Proactively identifies and implements automation/technology interface opportunities for purposes of reconciling account

Coordinates workflow and manages employees in the operational/reconciliation accounting area

Assists with external and internal audit activities which impact the operational/reconciliation accounting group, in addition to examinations by the NCUA, Illinois DFPR or other regulatory agency requests

Continuously assesses accounting and reconciliation processes to improve efficiency through automation or consolidation of processes

Provides support to Deputy Controller and AFR team with month end and year-end close processes including ensuring the balance sheet is reported in compliance with GAAP, State and Corporate policy and procedures
