Base Pay: $39,821-$59,193
Commerce Bank is looking for an ideal candidate for our Risk Analyst position in our Retail Lending and Payment Systems department. This position will be located in our Kansas City office. The responsibilities of our Risk Analyst will include:
–Assisting the Risk Manager by compiling data, and issuing reports and analysis on the bank’s direct and indirect consumer loans, home equity, consumer and commercial card, debit card and merchant processing portfolios; Assisting the Risk Manager in designing, building, testing and implementing consumer credit strategies;
–Extracting large amounts of application, credit bureau, and account data from various database sources using a variety of query tools, and evaluating the credit risk of consumer credit applications;
–Assisting in the identification and evaluation of portfolio trends with respect to delinquency, bankruptcy, demographic and other factors;
–Developing and implementing policies and strategies, which are designed to assess and manage the risk of applications, as well as the ongoing risk of existing accounts;
–Monitoring and measuring the effectiveness of proposed strategies and risk assessment tools;
–Monitoring compliance, regulatory and policy requirements;
–Creating and presenting intuitive performance analysis to upper management.
Job Requirements
Education:
–A 4-year college degree with an emphasis in business related disciplines;
Experience:
Ideally, the candidate must have:
–Prior experience with database queries and report generation using tools like SAS, Business Objects, SQL or MS Access;
–Experience in banking industry, specifically in installment loan and/or credit card is beneficial;
–Excellent oral and written presentation skills along with strong organizational and interpersonal skills;
–Analytical/critical thinking and problem solving skills;
–Proficiency with desktop applications like Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
–Attention to details.
