Teledyne Optimum Optical Systems is a designer and manufacturer of custom optics, optomechanical assemblies, and electro-optics for use in the UV, visible and IR spectrum. Manufacturer of Optical E-O fire controls systems, complex assemblies, CRT projection, recording, reconnaissance, LLLTV, laser transmitters and receivers. Designer of Optical Assemblies for simulators including software and servo development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Performs systems engineering on optomechanical components
•Looks at end-to-end performance and resolves potential issues
•Manages/oversees the development, design and analysis of optical/optomechanical systems
•Most work will be in the infrared area with some in the visible domain
•Other duties as assigned
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
•At least five (5) years of relevant, on-hands experience in the area of infrared (and visible) optical/optomechanical engineering and optical system engineering
•Ability to analyze complex optical systems and determine issues if any
•Knowledge and experience in manufacturing, assembly and test of optomechanical components/systems, mechanical housings of optical systems and optical lens
•Some program management experience
•Ability to meet deadlines and schedules
EDUCATION:
•Master's Degree in a relevant field with at least seven (7) years of experience in infrared (and visible) optical/optomechanical engineering and optical system engineering
